MY PERSONAL HISTORY

I was born in Malden, Massachusetts, and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I moved to the Washington area in 1970 to complete a residency after graduating from podiatry school. I was a runner for most of my life, competing in high school and college and completing five marathons, including the New York and Marine Corps marathons. I raised my two children in Reston and I enjoy spending time with my three grandchildren.

COMPASSIONATE SPORTS MEDICINE PERSPECTIVE

In addition to medical training and experience, I have a firsthand understanding of the care and treatment of athletes. I was a competitive runner in high school and college, and I ran and raced for nearly 45 years. I have also played basketball, baseball, softball, and tennis for most of my life. My athletic pursuits have given me an inside perspective on sports medicine and the importance of overall foot and ankle health.
